As Salaam Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah Wa Barakatuhu
To begin with, we would like to thank all the brothers
and sisters for their continuous donations towards the Extension of
the Masjid. We estimate to have raised approximately £13,000 from
the recent date of our Buy a brick appeal re launch. Indeed the Prophet
(peace be upon him) has been reported to have said:
“Those who
do not thank the people do not thank Allah”
(At-Tirmidhi).
Alhamdullillah, the extension project is making much progress, however
a great deal remains to be done. Thus, the opportunity is still here,
for you to earn good deeds today and tomorrow when you are no longer
on this earth. In this regard, it has come in a hadeeth collected by
Imam Muslim that:
"The Prophet, peace be upon him, said, 'When a person dies all
his good deeds cease except for three: a continuous act of charity,
beneficial knowledge, and a righteous son who prays for him.''
Abu Hurairah also reported that; "The Prophet, peace be upon him,
said, 'The righteous works that continue to benefit a believer after
his death include the knowledge that he taught and spread among others,
a righteous son whom he leaves behind, or a copy of the Qur'an that
he bequeaths to his inheritors, or a mosque that he builds, or a rest
house that he builds for the wayfarers, or a canal of water that he
digs for the benefit of others, or a charity that he gives out of his
property during his life while he is sound of health. He will continue
to receive reward for all these even after his death.'
(Ibn Majah)
Currently the external shell or walls for the ground floor has been
erected and are near completion, the wudu and sanitary facilities are
presently undergoing construction and design. The Shell for the first
floor is also almost complete. We hope to have the roof up by the end
of August, InshaAllah.
With the builders still on site, we have ceased using the ground floor
of the extension and at the moment the brothers are praying jummah in
the school playground next-door. As you know we have less than a month
left before the long awaited Blessed month of Ramadhan is upon us. Now
the race is really on to have the ground floor of the extension functional,
albeit partially for iftar and taraweh. In addition to this, the hastily
approaching autumn and winter weather also warrants this urgency. Imam
Muslim reports on the authority of Abu Hurayrah (May Allah be pleased
with him), that the Prophet peace be upon him said:
"Whoever helps a believer with a hardship from the hardships of
this life, Allaah will help him with a hardship from the hardships of
the Day of Resurrection. Whoever shows leniency towards someone in difficultly,
Allaah will show him leniency in this life and the hereafter. Whoever
conceals (the faults of) a Muslim, Allaah will conceal him in this life
and the hereafter. And Allaah will continue to aid the servant as long
as the servant aids his brother..."
(Muslim)

Remember no donation is too small or too large and Allah has set the
example of those who give in His saying:
The likeness of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah, is
as the likeness of a grain (of corn); it grows seven ears, and each
ear has a hundred grains. Allah gives manifold increase to whom He pleases.
And Allah is the All-Sufficient for His creatures' needs, All-Knower.
(2:262)
